Questions Property Owners Ask Us

If your question is not answered here, call us or request a free claim review and we will talk it through.

What is a public adjuster?

A public adjuster is a licensed insurance claim professional who works for the policyholder. Public adjusters document losses, prepare claim files, and handle communication with the insurance company on the policyholder's behalf.

Who does a public adjuster represent?

A public adjuster represents you — the policyholder. Country Public Adjusters does not work for insurance companies.

How is a public adjuster different from the insurance company's adjuster?

The adjuster sent by your insurance company is retained by and reports to the insurance company. A public adjuster is retained by you and works on your side of the claim.

When should I contact a public adjuster?

People contact us right after a loss, when they are unsure how to start a claim, when a claim seems underpaid, when damage may have been overlooked, or when the process has simply become too much to manage.

Can you help if I already filed my claim?

Yes. A claim can be reviewed after it has been filed, while it is in progress, and in many cases after an offer has been made. Contact us and we will look at where things stand.

What types of property damage claims do you handle?

Hurricane and storm, water, fire and smoke, roof, wind, flood-related damage where applicable, mold resulting from covered damage where applicable, commercial property damage, and other property insurance claims.

What should I do immediately after property damage?

If the property is unsafe, address safety first. Then, where it is safe to do so, take photos and video before anything is moved or repaired, keep receipts for emergency expenses, take reasonable steps to prevent further damage, and keep a record of everyone you speak with.

How does the process begin?

It begins with a conversation. You tell us what happened, we review your situation and your policy, and we explain what working with a public adjuster would involve.
